Mellisa joins Sherrard Kuzz LLP as a first-year summer student in 2025. She is a juris doctor candidate at Osgoode Hall Law School, and an avid mooter having competed in the Lerners Cup where she received a Distinguished Oralist award and advanced to the octofinals. Mellisa has also achieved top oralist placements in several national and international moot competitions.
At law school, Mellisa serves as the Vice President of Internal Events for the Osgoode Hall Athletic Association, a student representative for the Asian Law Students Association, and a Junior Caseworker at Community Legal Aid Services Program.
Before law school, Mellisa earned her degree from the University of Toronto, where she studied Criminology and Sociolegal Studies, Philosophy, and Bioethics.
One of Mellisa’s most meaningful initiatives has been her involvement with Best Buddies Canada, an organization dedicated to fostering friendships between individuals with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities. In her free time, Mellisa is training for the Toronto Harbourfront Marathon and enjoys working on “paint by the numbers” projects.
Mellisa is bilingual – English/Cantonese.
