Melisa joins Sherrard Kuzz LLP as a first-year summer student in 2025. She is a juris doctor candidate at Queen’s University, where she serves as the Faculty Board Representative for the Law Students’ Society and is actively involved in student advocacy and governance.

Before law school, Melisa earned a degree in Communication Studies, summa cum laude, from McMaster University. She has extensive background in hospitality and corporate operations, where she developed a strong foundation in problem-solving, client service, and team leadership.

Melisa’s passion for labour and employment law stems from her diverse experiences working on both the employer and employee sides of workplace dynamics. She is eager to apply her skills in advocacy and strategic thinking to support businesses foster strong, healthy workplaces.

In her free time, Melisa enjoys playing volleyball and finding any excuse to satisfy her sweet tooth—whether celebrating a small win with a donut, or making sure her freezer is always stocked with an emergency ice cream cake.
