Carissa N. Tanzola
Chair of the Labour and Employment Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association, Carissa is a skilled advocate whose practice is focused on the representation of management in several areas of employment and labour law with particular emphasis on occupational health and safety, workplace safety and insurance and disability management.
Widely published in industry publications such as Canadian Employment Law Today, Canadian HR Reporter and Canadian Safety Reporter, Carissa is frequently invited to lead seminars and webinars on areas related to her practice.

Carissa is a member of the Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) Health and Safety Committee, Grand Valley Construction Association, and mentors young labour and employment lawyers through the Ontario Bar Association’s mentorship program. She is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association (Labour & Employment, Civil Litigation, Constitutional, Civil Liberties & Human Rights, Workers’ Compensation, Young Lawyers) and Law Society of Upper Canada.
Carissa obtained her law degree at the University of Ottawa, and an Honours Degree (Distinction) in Political Science from Western University. She was a summer and articling student with Sherrard Kuzz LLP during which time she completed a secondment with the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
